Just my personal opinion, but prop aircraft beat jets any day, at least for conveying "action" in a photo!
And among prop aircraft, there aren't many I'm as fond of as the Lancaster. Come to think of it, most of my other favs are Merlin-powered as well!
This of course, is the Mynarsky Memorial Lancaster Mk.X, VR-A, of the Canadian Warplane Heritage. The Mk.X was essentially a B.III, but manufactured in Canada.
So what's the title about? Well... it seems the Lancaster fans in the UK are in for a rate treat this summer: In August, VR-A is heading across the pond and will be appearing with the BBMF Lanc! I kid you not, you lucky dogs. I caught wind of it on the national news, and the CWH website confirms it.
There had best be pictures, and lots of them! :)

I'm with you! And your prop blur is just perfect in this photo!

this may have been the plane I saw fly by my house a few months back. the color is on par and double tail vertical stabilizer. I happened to go to a museum here that has many WWII and WWI vintage aircraft this following day. I asked them about it but they had no knowledge of it being in town. superb capture and plane quality

Great to see. What it must have been like when Lancasters were flying off on mass raids... many, many Merlins...
