Description

Pinatas in a shopping area, at Puerta Maya, Cozumel Island, Mexico. Liked the colors against the blue sky! Pinatas are very traditional at Mexican parties. They are filled with candy, treats and small prizes. The children are blindfolded and given a stick. Each child is given a few swings and when the Pinata is broken open, the children all rush in to gather as much candy as possible. To be honest, many adults get whacked with the sticks before the candy falls free. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

At the sight of so many colors, I think that the shopping area at Puerta Maya is a attraction to see :) Wonderful photo.

I find the stars are most beautiful ... such a great pity that they have to be destroyed, by hitting the c..p (sweets) out of them ! but then again wouldn't it be funny, if they were filled with baked beans - instead ? LOL fine capture Dana, BB [sorry to say, I haven't been around much, to comment - but I'm a little pre-occupied with my upcoming BIG trip to Europe, I rarely travel and find it overwhelming]

Growing up in southern California these were a common thing at parties...not as easy to break as you might expect, though, most of the time! Great capture!

I have seen so many funny video's of bystanders getting whacked instead of the Pinata's that they should come with a serious health warning or at least some PPE (personal protection equipment)...LOL Nice colourful capture Dana ! ~Cheers~

It must be a wonderful sight for a child to see all those colorful shapes hanging up there against the blue sky. Maybe they should hang some origami up there too! ;)
