Description

A beach statue along the waters edge in Cozumel, Mexico. I could not tell what it was made of but it was coated with sand! Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

Sharks are presently a real problem here in OZ, - I should rephrase that, they are always problems - especially for our surfing community ;( and as we are totally surrounded by water on this big island, it's no wonder ... many kids and adults are taking risks, surfing or swimming where there are signs, saying that you shouldn't ... or where there are no beach patrolling lifesavers ! DOH !!! but this one looks pretty harmless and very friendly to me Dana, ... and waving - not drowning !!! LOL BB *** me packed ??? I am sure you are kidding me - I have plenty of time indeed ... (sorry, about my recent 'absenteeism' - I am just so busy, with my upcoming trip ... (July/August) so many things are not falling into place immediately as they should, you have no idea how time-consuming and ridiculous the 'RED TAPE' is, just for getting a passport !!! and that is only the start of many little niggly things, presently!)

It's just my 2 cents worth, but I have been surfing Oz for close on 40 years, and I have NEVER had a problem with sharks. I've seen one or two in my time, but they did NOTHING to me! Yes a rare attack has happened once in a while, but it's like the risk of getting struck by lighting when you compare it to the risk of driving a car. Thousands die on our roads and people are still sooooo blasé about it all. But if someone sees a shark.............OMG!!!!!!! Over 70 million sharks are slaughtered barbarically each and every year for Shark Fin soup........................BB, once you leave all the red tape will be forgotten. LOL Good luck!

An image with very interesting contrasts. The sky in the background gives this beast a menacing feeling of size, but at the same time his cartoony grin makes him a figure of fun. Whoever made this sculpture certainly has a devilish sense of humor. :D

Nice capture - I didn’t recognize it as a shark at first but it is a good caricature and I like the use of sand for the texture material!

A friendly-looking shark, but his living conspecifics I do not want to meet in the water. Superb find and shot.
