I love seeing this. It's so PNW! :) I got a shot of ferns growing on a tree trunk in the swamp a couple days ago. Cute, but sparse. This is delightful! I saw the closeup first, and must admit it's my favorite of the two.

I'm skipping so I can get some of the shots I missed...this is splendid. A big shag rug. And your crop lets the spill dominate. Yes, as Tara says, this must be very PNW---we don't have growths like this in the MIdwest. (Though the upper Midwest, maybe---I mean the north woods, upper Michigan, Canada, etc...maybe.) Your light and shadow are very expressive; and the presence of the whole thing is like a big woolen sweater or scarf, lush and complex, hanging off the tree, inviting us to touch it. Beautiful work again. I'd love to wake up to this sight everyday...

That is a thick coat and it looks so beautiful! It reminds me of Olympic National Park!
