Description

It was such a nice evening, Jo and I decided to go for a short walk at the park behind our local Bass Pro Shop. It was nice and calm, and great for flying, so we took the Phantom along. This was taken a bit earlier than the sunset shot. I wanted to get a few aerial photos of the construction site just east of Bass Pro. I'm not sure what they're building, but it looks like it will be 4 floors judging by the elevator shafts. With elevators and stairwells at each end, and looking at the general layout, I'm guessing it will be a hotel/resort. I guess we'll see if I'm right.... LOL It might be fun to shoot a couple aerial photos each week as the construction progresses. It's been pretty busy with getting used to a more human (LOL) work schedule, and trying to learn my way around Blacksmith. I'm making progress, though, and the next page in the T.N.A. series is in progress - coming soon! Hope everyone has a great new week! As always, thanks so much for dropping by, and for all your comments and support! I appreciate it more than you know..

Won't be long before all the paparazzi will be using these to get photos of celebrities at private weddings and functions or in there backyard and so on. No more waiting for the rich and famous to come outside to get shots.. Could even buzz there house windows.. There will be no where to hide, but then again they could get a gun and shoot them down for sport lol.. Nice shot Rod..

Actually, the FAA would shut them down pretty quick. Currently, commercial use of UAVs (AKA drones) is not permitted in the USA. So, no deliveries of pizza, beer or Amazon orders anytime soon. This may change if the FAA rulings begin to allow limited integration of UAVs into the airspace for commercial purposes. So.... No photos of celebrities sunbathing naked! LOL

LOL, most people take a Dog when going for a walk, Rod takes a phantom!!!.. but then a Dog can't get to 150ft... unassisted ... glad to see the missus is buying in to the phantom as well... mine just growls at my hobbies! Another very cool aerial photo.. nice pondside view.. so yes, I guess a Hotel of similar is on the cards!

Quite a complex Bass Pro has there. I've just told Tara, "Maybe we should hire Rod/Jo to go down to Paola, KS and do an aerial recon for us of the various campsites in Hillsdale State Park (we stayed there last year and will again in April this year). In the spring some sites are wet, others not so much, etc.

Hehe - I'll do it for free, Bill - if I get paid for it the FAA would have a candy-coated hissy fit! LOL!

LOL at some of the comments posted here. But, that gives me an idea Rod. Got any good looking ladies in the neighborhood? You could take photos of them and post them here, LOL! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT! I know THAT wouldn't fly (no pun intended) especially with Jo, HeHe. It would be interesting to see the progression of the construction. Good idea.

While its a great POV mate, its never going to be about looking after nature or the like. It'll always be about destruction of the above and making the rich richer! So no surprise.. Well shot again mate.. Rob

I'm of the same mind, Rob. It sickens me to see whole grove of trees ripped away for yet another hotel or office building that will sit mostly empty for years. There will be photos of natural areas coming very soon, once the weather improves.
