Description
Both this image & the previous one I posted were based on a tutorial I found on how to simulate IR photography in Photoshop. I've admired some of the IR photography I've seen here on Renderosity & elsewhere & thought I'd see if I could get a similar effect. I tried the tutorial on several photos before I figured out which types worked best, but ultimately I found that I was still unsatisfied with the final results. These two photos were the result of using just the first few steps of the tutorial & then improvising a little on my own. The only difference between the two is the application of a channel mixer adjustment layer & that was another benefit of this exercise - I learned how to use the channel mixer for the first time!

This looks like a very cool alien landscape, maybe in Star Trek! Great image!

IR photography is exactly what I was thinking in the last shot. I always wanted to shoot IR film as a film photographer, but for some strange reason, never did. A fine job!

Wow! I like this one even better than the first one! The complementary colors really work for me, and the teal is the perfect foil. LOVE this!! Channel mixer, huh? Hmmmmmmm ...

Well, my inexperience shows again since I do not even know what IR Photography is. But, I do know the color choices here give this a wonderfully beautiful surreal effect. I especially like the orange lake with the purple reflections.

IR stands for Infrared.

My preference is the first one but I do love that sky.

I like this very much also; these colours really appeal to me. Well done!
