Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

WOW Andrea I love this. We get a few geese around here from time to time, but I can honestly say I have never seen this many together.

lovely pic... in my country the number of geese is growing every year.... to me it feels like there are too much of them now, and farmers complain about them eating the young grass, not leaving much to eat for the cows. are there more and more in your country too??

I believe I have seen that there is a problem in some areas. Here they are on the marsh, so they are welcome. They fly North soon to breed.

This is a lovely view. Those Geese look quite happy on the marshland. Thanks for sharing.

Birds! Yes! (An obsession of mine, lately). This is a wonderful photo. They are so like, but different from, the Canadian geese common here.

A vast lea with splendid English scenery for the Brent Geese to graze about.

A splendid scene. They seem quite at ease. I assume there is no hunting in your area.

We don't get to see this many geese - even during migration. Two beautiful photos Andrea!

We enjoyed our walk to Hengistbury Head but I don't think we got that far, we get a few geese fly in to my neighbours big pond at dusk honking all the way which puts Freya into a bit of a panic although she's getting used to it now.

Great atmo with these birds.

Canada geese have become a problem here, so since they have no predators to speak of anymore, overpopulation s the result. Your shot of geese is marvelous, like little sheep with wings, grins.
