HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!!
Ok, so 2 Irish friends were walking with me by the Lake. It was stormy, and the water was its usual blue-green. So Colin---from County Donegal---shouted:
"Lad!!!! Yer Lake---it's freakin' GREEEEEEN! It's like Irish BEEEER!!!"
So: In honor of all Irish-blooded souls everywhere, Happy St. Patrick's Day! With a pic of my lake looking like Irish Beer...
(It really IS green, but I did some postwork anyway...)
Still nursing my wrist, but I'll be back soon.
ENJOY!!!

You've captured some awesomely dramatic foam & turbulence here, Mark - outstanding shot...

Mark, this is a magnificent capture you shared with us today. I can't imagine a more fitting image to represent St. Patrick's Day as the waves almost remind me of the foamy head on a beer.

I absolutely love seeing light through the waves; it's a colour you can't quite see anywhere else. Beautifully captured here, and what's up with your wrist? Have you slipped on the ice and hurt it? Or is it that your camera is too heavy for you (mine feels that way sometimes)? Hope it's minor and soon sorted, my friend!

I'll have a little more blarney with my green beer please:-) Beautiful composition and a fine way to mark the day Mark!

Wow, like a giant body of green beer, foam and all. A lot of spirit in this wonderful shot, and super and unique for St. Patrick's Day.

Fabulous! I just love it! This is an absolutely outstanding photo, Mark, and of one of my favourite sights, providing I'm not actually ON it! I wouldn't be surprise if Helle wants to make a painting of this.

OHHH This is so freakin wonderful, Mark. And I agree with Andrea. I could actually feel like painting these too. I have already painted 3 of your wonderful seascapes and I cannot believe, I never posted them on RR. So I will, in order to honour your gorgeous wave shots, Post ALL three today. Whaddayasay?

I just found your site because helanker posted her painting with a link. I can see why she was so inspired. Happy St. Paddy's Day a bit late. Thanks for sharing.

Sterling freeze shot here, lad, with the froth and all having a rip roaring old time. Sure and it's a dead ringer for the bonny waves that lap along the shores of the auld sod, Mark. I wonder why the water is so green. Algae, refraction, or just the way the light hits it? And, why is Ireland having a population explosion? Because its capital is always Dublin.

This is way cool---lots of wave action along with the perfect color--I think your lake and my ocean need to meet some day!! (Course that could cause a major, very bad shift in the world, so maybe it isn't such a great idea!!)

Beautiful capture and motif, Mark. I like the wildness you captured in the waves. Love the green and yellow tones too. A nice and humorous story too. I have not tasted a beer for more than a year now. Do not dare to try either.. it would destroy my stomach completey... But i miss the taste of a good beer, i must admit :)

Wonderfully captured.

This is so impressing lively, and such pure nature feeling it gives me. The colors are amazing, and I'm really impressed by the forms of the waves!

I don't care much for beer, but oh, I love this! Such beautiful colors, light, and motion! The colors have a gorgeous translucency. I love the wave on the top right with light green veins rippling on it's surface. Everywhere colors are playing. Blues rise into green and sink back into blue. Gold and blue tumble together and leap up into white. Everywhere color and light perform a beautiful dance. Water, in motion, has such power and beauty. I can hear the sound, see the light and shifting colors when I look here. Absolutely magical!
