Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Better late than never, Maz! A ZOOM is absolutely necessary to appreciate and enjoy the elegance of this wonderful photograph, teeming with exquisite color, clarity, detail and lighting effects. And, yes, another happy birthday wish to you, Mark. Technically, we all have just one birthday….all that follows is celebration and commemoration of the one event.

Yes, as Harry says, birthdays are really the commemorations of our birthdays, "anniversaries". I like that. (My 'actual' birth-day---I mean when I was born?---I had 6 tequilas, 2 anchovy pizzas, slept with a hooker, and got a Nobel Prize, until someone told me it was for someone else and I got thrown into prison. And that was just the first hour, ba-da-boom...) Ok, back to the gift! Great image, Marilyn, and completely right considering that you and I have this like-soul when it comes to huge dramatic waves. I always consider mine mickey mouse stuff compared to yours, but you keep reminding me that my lake gets some pretty huge waves too, and my lake thanks you profusely. You've been great in your responses to my shots; that makes this post very special. And yeah, one has to zoom to see it all. This is sooooooo much the 'ocean', turbulent, spray-filled and beautiful. (And you know just what to shoot, you're so familiar with it.) Thank you, Marilyn, for being a good and great friend to me as well, totally, and for thinking of me with this big pulsing crashing image right from the heart of your life: This was a wonderful celebration for me, and I love it. And you don't have to worry about being late: I didn't tell anyone, and I know how much you do, many weeks, and I'm very grateful you did this, period. A wonderful piece of your life. Thank you so much, Marilyn. (ps---I'll be back for more comments soon!)

A perfect gift for Mark. The light is gorgeous, the waves are huge and crashing, and there's drama leaking out of every ... pixel. :P Outstanding!
