Description
It still never ceases to impress me how courageous it was to fly a bomber straight and true in the midst of 200 plus mile an hour hunks of fire and metal being driven down on you as well as flak being shot up at you.
I was musing about this after enjoying Briney's last post and in the musing this bit more "artsy" concept popped into my head. I did a focal length of 108mm on the camera which squeezed all the opposing action like a sandwich, compressing the distances between the aircraft. I kind of like it and will likely visit the technique again soon.

Americans by day, British by night. It took a long time (in this country at least) for these men to get the recognition they deserved. Stunning work Bill.

Visually stunning!! tremendous and horrendous in one shot, the 'squeezing' works, a claustrophobic feel in a huge space.....look forward to more of these.... Thanks for the mention mate, always appreciated..

Interesting view. Has a very 1930s Megalopolis poster feel to it.

It looks very graphical, like a cover of a book.

O.K Facts : THIS IS A FANTASTIC RENDER!!!!!!!!! Stunning work.. It was amazingly brave to fly bombers into the firestorm that headed their way! But, flak stopped just before fighters arrived (warning sign!).. And mostly, fighters attacked head on, (kill the pilot, bomber goes down), simple fact.. The firing gap was less than half a second, closing speed was over 600mph in some cases.. Only after the first run did fighters attack from the rear or sides.. More often then ran past the bombers to line up for another frontal attack.. BUT! this is where U.S. Fighters stepped in.. I could go on... I highly recommend : Target Berlin Mission 250 : 6 March 1944 by Jefferey Ethell and Alfred Price.. Once more mate, a truly great Render!!!!!!!!! Well done! Rob
