This is a postworked version of my home...
I've posted other versions,
but this is the fullest, which I post for one of the fullest, kindest people here...
who ALSO happens to be a wonderful and talented artist, whose images take his fans to all kinds of lands,
and to mystically-lit places right at home...
It's for Craig (faroutsider, here):
I discovered his birthday today from Tara's dedi (beautiful), and I'm soooooo glad:
Because it gives me the chance to say THANK you to him
for bringing such constant big-heartedness to this place, and such warmth and joy as well.
He's a scientist by trade...and an editor, musician, illustrator, and cat lover, among other things. He's done uploads for his family as touching as any here, as well as collaborations with Tara---as writer---that were delightful and magical. His gallery, for his fans, is a joy, and I'm soooo happy he's in this world.
So happy birthday, Craig!
May all the love and light you give to others come back to you many-fold, and be with you always
as you dance across the treetops (like these) with everyone and everything you love!

Happy B-day to Craig. Such a lovely dedi. Those autumn trees are gorgeous. A photographer's dream. It always amazes me how trees give such a lively and very alive display of fiery beauty as if to celebrate their final moment of glory before fading away for winter. You really do show the beauty of Chicago in all its seasons.

Mark, where do I start? First, I read your words and I hardly recognised myself. I read them again and it dawned on me - you've put up a mirror, my friend, and described yourself. OK, not the bit about being a scientist (I LOVED your story about the extinction of the dinosaurs - Nobel prize winning stuff, but for literature :o))). You, Mark, must be one of the warmest, kind-hearted people I've ever met (unfortunately we've only met in virtual space...). You're also one of the most creative and wonderfully talented people around, and I'm delighted and privileged to be your friend. And the photograph just oozes, no, shouts with joy, and life, and colour, and warmth, giving me a glimpse of where you live (in your corporeal form - in-joke), but also where you live behind your camera, finding and capturing beauty in a way that gives it such freedom and purpose... I love this shot, with the autumn colours juxtaposed against the greens, the organic forms juxtaposed with the man-made structures. Thank you my friend for your wonderful gift, for your friendship shared across the world, and most of all for being who you are.
