Quite impressive macro. I wonder if the willow could be saved if someone were to push it back upright and stabalize it a bit.

a scintillating closeup, with every spindle clear and vibrant. The whole is tilted to our right as if it's bowing, or pondering something. And very clear detail on the join of the bloom with the branch. You've done some beautiful work with these catkins, and they've been new experiences for me because I've seen very few close up, and yours are vivid and very expressive. And that fallen tree shot is like a big light-burst---a real feast for the eyes! Your camera sure does nice macros.

Excellent work Andrea, great shots, shame it fell but it could still yet survive if enough of it's roots are intact.

What the eloquent anahata.c said. Back to your trusty old TizzyZ3 on this remarkable macro, A. I can't understand how you get such super bokeh on your Panasonic and I get such pathetic results on my Panasonic American model DMC-ZS8.

Well these catkins won't miss any bees that happen to be in the area. Very extravagant. And two superb captures. Mark explained it perfectly. Wonderful details.

Great macro but it reminds me of things to come, we park the car under a Goat willow but when it drops its catkins and we drive off in a cloud of fluff.

I love catkins, no matter what stage they are at. I call them all catkins, no matter what kind of tree they appear on. Such a clear and crisp and wonderful capture! I wonder if there any at the Hollow yet. Sigh .. will it never get warm enough to get out there?
