Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Wow, great capture!!

Wonderful capture, I like both versions. This is what photography is all about, those spontaneous moments where you cannot think for a second.. just point and click or it will be lost forever. Always a good idea to create a few custom settings and store them, there is seldom enough time to adjust the camera for those instant shots... Auto can work fine but will often require post work to balance things up. Well done.

Very good idea of picture :)

LOL! I can well imagine. This is a really wonderful shot, love the angle!

Both photos are very nice! Your window cleaner has a sharp wit. I like that in a person and I enjoy sarcasm in a friendly way!

This is one where the digifiddle works for the best. the original is very good but your postwork on the image is stupendous

Amusing remark. Ted would probably be horrified if he saw my place. You fiddle better than any violinist.

Cool shot, and I prefer the digifiddle!

Interesting digifiddle.

Once again I love both versions. I love the flickr for the high contrast of all the white against Ted's dark body, and the big swirls of his cleaning brush. Here, you gave more light to Ted, so we can see his face and outfit; and the swirls really bring out his body movements. Also, it seems more like a graphic or print---fine job, Andrea. And I love his comment about "archaeology": We had a window when I was a kid (basement) that not only had the remains of insects dating back to the Spanish Inquisition, but which had such thick layers of soot that pros couldn't clean them without taking them back to the "lab" and subjecting them to chemicals. So I fully understand.

I did like the Flickr version very much, but I love this digifiddled version! And I had to laugh at Ted's comments while cleaning the inside of the porch windows! The postwork on this makes it have such a feel of motion, as if Ted is literally moving his arm in front of me!

LOL, about Ted's 'archaeology', did he find some ancient bones or fossils maybe, Andrea? I love what you did with your digifiddle; it's a very nice peak, but Ted seems to wash your artwork away.
goodoleboy
Magnificent POV, contrast, texture and digifiddle on this pic. And, LOL on Ted's comment, A. I could sure use him on my upstairs windows, which haven't been washed since since the Black Plague swept Europe. .

I like both versions, and was surprised at what a different feel they have! They're both quite engaging ... I feel like I'm there watching him!

Nice shot and your windows sound like mine and mine are all on the ground floor , I can always find something better to do.

Cool light photography.
