Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

I love pictures of old mansions. :-) This is an awesome scene. It reminds me of Oak Alley. There's another Louisiana Plantation that'd be cool to visit and photograph, called the Myrtles. If you ever go there, I hope you take a photo!

A house seen through a tangle of trees, way back in the 'lot': And still it draws us right back to it. All the light is back there (the trees are shouting, "hey, don't hog the light, dude!!!") A shot where your 'star' is in the back, and is seen through big thick beautiful shadows. Your fore and middle ground here is alive with those overhanging shadows---typical of these beautiful southern forests and tree-lined yards---with a sweet patch of light in the center, ie on the pathway. I think this is how we archetypally envision southern mansions: approached through a thicket of dappled light and shadow, with old lace-draped trees. You caught the ambiance, Bill, that magical southern feel. A shot true to its subject, very sweetly done, my friend, and iconically southern in spirit.

Excellent shot Bill. I like these old plantation houses, I always think of Rhet Buttler and Scarlet O'Hara

What a beautiful house, I love that wraparound porch! Definitely a southern feel to this shot!

Any chance you post photos from the inside, or the gardens? This is great. The contrast light - dark make this a fantastic photo. It could very well be on the fron cover of a travel guide. Keep up the good work! :-)

It looks like a fantastic place to spend some time. I love this shot, Bill! So tranquil and beautiful!

As I look at this image, I can hear birds singing outside our window at Dauphin Island. Two states away, but it provides the proper auditory backdrop for your gorgeous photograph. Lovely!
