Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Wonderful shots of a fantastic garden, you certainly have plenty of early colour there. I do so like the garden you have, I would guess it's most peoples idea of how a garden should be, it must be a pleasure to work in, to enjoy and to photograph.

Stunning March Garden collage of the lovely flora, marching into Spring, Andrea. Those look like tulips in the center frame. And, where did you obtain that voodoo creature over at the bottom left? Does it represent protection for your garden? I thought Ralphie provided that. In any case, beautifully done.

This collage says "SPRING" to me, in your always-lovely garden. Well done!

So bright and colorful; it will be one more week before it gets above 0 C here, about three weeks later than usual.

Ahhhhhhh ... lovely! Those tulips are glorious, and it's such a treat to see your garden bursting into the season like this! :) I never tire of your monthly collections. Always a treat!

Ditto Tara, Denise and everyone else: A glorious collection of such colorful images. And in March! You must get spring immediately. (Ours starts in May---for real: It usually doesn't get this beautiful until early May.) Beautiful collection, a carnival. And you sequenced them with 'music': I love walking through them from one side to the other---contrasts of flowers, two corners of flowering branches, comparing walkways, etc. And I love that statue down in the lower left corner: Maybe I've seen it before, but I don't remember it: Great little mythic figure watching over the proceedings. A beautiful gathering and celebration, beautiful to see. Happy Spring!!!

Your garden looks great ,mine is slowly coming to life.

Sigh. Mind staggeringly beautiful for March. There is only one hopeful sign in our garden .. the daffodils have pushed green noses up out of the dirt! And the weeds, yes the weeds never seem to quit, even when they are deeply buried under a ton of snow, they stay green. Your garden is the epitome of Spring .. if you look up the word spring in the dictionary, I believe you'd find a photo of your garden in March!

What a brilliant collage, full of beautiful light, and exuberance. There is much that is admirable, and every picture is a fantastic one. You'll be very happy with such a beautiful garden, huh Andrea? I admire everything about it. And now I know, The Lonicera Armandii is a Clematis. :) Many congratulations with this fantastic result, my friend.

Your monthly 'garden-newsletter' is as always, full of surprises for me, it looks so inviting, to get lost in it - a bit like an amazing maze ... BB
