Description

I like how the river transitions from a metalic chrome look to clarity, hence the title. There's a lot of water stuff going on in this seemingly placid scene. There's the ice falls, the river, the ice shelves that formed as the river froze, including one that has collapsed as the water level dropped and of course the cold white snow itself. Next we will zoom in to see some of the marvelous detail of what is going on under those shelves. I hope you are not bored silly by all this time spent at Cline Canyon. Feel free to yawn and ignore me if you are. For me it is very special to go into a place that hardly anyone ever goes to see.

No boredom here. Virgin wilderness is not much of thing anymore, so any views into nearly virgin wilderness is a treat. Excellent photos of this site.

It's so cool how the rock formations almost look like weathered tree bark. I would luv to see some more of those twisted sister rock formations, rock on B-Girl... ;)

Yeah, I have to agree with Mike and Art..... There is such a wonderful conglomeration of textures, colors, reflections - not to mention composition and balance. These are anything but boring, Roxy - keep 'em coming!

I am really impressed by all the lovely winter captures. I cannot get out at all in winter so would never see these sights. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us.

I think I see the entrance to Superman's Fortress of Solitude back there. Beautiful shot of this incredible spot...

Not bored at all, but ticked-off that only 12 people here can be bothered to view your photo full size. Ok 13 now, but it takes like what, 5 seconds out of your life? And increases the pleasure 100%. Thank you for your comment on my pic tonight. For some reason I thought I'd upset you (no comments from you for a bit, I'm a sensitive guy!) FYI, I'm 3 times as old as the best malt whisky I've tasted, so you were perhaps a couple of years on the high side :)

love the dark water and the reflections. Waterfalls are wonderful, but as you have shown, especially so when it is cold!!
