UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

What's amazing to me, looking at this picture, is that we have no sense at all of the depth of the water on the floor. It couldn't have been more than a couple inches, but the reflections are so perfect they totally block what's below. Outstanding image!

A super capture and perspective Bill!!

Wonderful! A big tunnel-shot, with beautiful deep browns and reds, beautiful brick details, and that wonderful water on the bottom, transforming and re-painting the top. The light bands are wonderful, as is that patch of white light in the back---a perfect accent against the door. In fact, you got a perfect abstract out of this, and (tara points out), there's no way of knowing that the water is 'shallow': In this shot, it could be way, way deep. Beautiful capture, with real depth and perspective, and a tunneled beauty. Really fine-tuned seeing!

Some wonderful brickwork Bill.

Oh, MY! What a change from your 2 previous photos! This could be a corridor to hell deep inside the earth. WHat makes this so fascinating is the mirror effect in the water giving a false impression of great depth and the illusion of a rounded bottom. The dark door at the end seems both beckoning and foreboding. How deep was the water - 1 inch? The more shallow, the better the mirror effect. Keep up the good work! Another surprise photo next? :-)

Well now, that is one impressive photo of what reminded me immediately of a vampire nest. Eerie is what comes to mind, along with the fabulous ambience of perspective, dreary and cool contrast in this image, Bill. Anyone got a torch and hip boots?
