Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Wonderful image! I'm not sorry I didn't go with you yesterday, but it would have been nice to see this lighthouse. Oh well. It's a terrific photograph! I particularly like the way the cloud passes behind the light, up near the window. It gives the sense that the lighthouse window is somehow involved with the shape of the cloud. VERY cool! :)

Typical Florida humidity. Awesome POV, clarity, color and contrast in this image of the charcoal and white lighthouse and its environs, Bill. Besides having been the first North American European settlement, Pensacola is a sea port on Pensacola Bay, which connects to the Gulf of Mexico. A large United States Naval Air Station, the first in the United States, is located southwest of Pensacola (near the community of Warrington) and is home to the Blue Angels flight demonstration team and the National Naval Aviation Museum. The main campus of the University of West Florida is situated north of the city center. Source: Wikipedia encyclopedia.

Terrific Bill. I wonder why it isn't white all the way up? I'm sure there is a good reason!

A gorgeous shot of this lighthouse; not an easy one when they're so darn tall!! Safe travels on your way home.

Love what the 35mm did here, there is a temptation to correct these converging verticals. But here they serve to give your shot much more "Impact" illustrating the light house as a lot more taller than it actually is. Ataboy Bill!

Yucky! Humidity is nasty! Although come to think of it, I don't know which is worse... humidity or the extreme cold Toronto can't seem to rid itself of even with a few teases here and there of spring time! :) What a delightful piece of historic sight! Really interesting to know when the first time it was lit was... terrific capture and fabulous sky!

What a fascinating capture! The angles are so expressive---the high angle on the tower, the tilt of the ground, the tilt-in of the house behind the tower: It's all so played-off of each other. Just fascinating. And the tower's loneliness is offset by the crowded coagulation of buildings on the ground. And it looks almost like you have some people up in the tower---or maybe those are objects, I can't tell: But they make a great contrast up there. A real mix of angles, movement, and massing. Very compelling. And the window near the top of the tower looks like it's spewing out some of those clouds. Fascinating lineup of visual events!
