Description
A typical parent. I love to anthropomorphize creatures other than humans.
Captured way back on 4/10/06, at the beautiful Fullerton Arboretum in beautiful Fullerton, California.
Shot originally at a small 640 x 480 resolution, so this did require some postwork to bring it up to size and better definition.
Toodles.

I love the ducky families; and I anthropomorphize too, it's hard not to when the behaviours seem the same across the species. Wonderful capture of this busy mum with all her little chicks; looks like swimming lessons are on today!

Such a cute shot, nicely captured. Mum clearly has to keep a sharp eye on that lot.

Kudos on the work you've done with those old 640 x 480 photos---you've done a fine job. And kudos on capturing the mother squawking at her young ones, as they meander all around, as young ones do. A delightful shot, fun and also funny, as the little ones go snooping around---but not too far from their mother: They really look like they're staying close. I also like the "cut" in the photo---ie, the way the landline cuts a perfect diagonal across the frame, with the water atop. In a shot like this, that kind of balance brings it all into sweet balance and contrast. This really belongs with your recently-posted people candids, because it captures a moment of a family that everyone can relate to. And I wonder if the duck-mom can tell her kids apart...A delightful candid, Harry; ducks or humans, you have the eye...
