Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I love the Oregon coast. This is such a wonderfully typical view of that area, and one I never tire of seeing. How nice that Marcos sees good stopping places! Seems like maybe you should keep him around for a while. :D

Well Denise said it for me. Another courageous shot, because you let a big dark mound---with dark silhouetted trees---be the 'star' of your shot, taking up a big swath of the space and the light. But that's the point of the shot---the way that big rock dominates and even obliterates anything in front of it. You caught some light on the front of that rock---nice seeing!---and the trees up there seem lonely and majestic, standing alone in the sky next. And the background is 3-toned: Light for the front waves, deeper blue for the rest of the ocean, and a sleepy gray for the sky. This inclement weather has brought out a wonderful side of you, you're finding its poetry and speech all over the place. A very moody, beautiful shot, and gutsy---like the landscape itself. And it's great that Marcos is so attuned to your photographic needs: Not everyone understands the call of the camera!
