Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

The drops on the right are perfectly placed! I could do,with a bit of sunshine here too, not boring!

Not alway sunny shots are beautiful. True art is to have the eye for pictures like above, where is a hidden beauty in it. You caught very skilled the fog, mist and clouds. Very well done. Its an amazing pic.

Very good shot in difficult conditions.

nice capture

I don't mind the drops ... they add to the mood of the shot. DO go back in nicer weather! The old-town section of Bandon, by the pier, is the best place in the world to hang out on a nice day. :)

I have been to the Oregon coast in good weather. I always wondered how it would be during other seasons than summer. Your Photo gives a clear indication of what it is like in stormy weather with the raindrops on the lens :)

Cool capture of the Oregon coastline. Well, since you wear flip-flops when crossing primitive rope bridges or scaling craggy mountains, I'm not surprised that you were wearing no rain gear to protect you from the wet and windy elements, Marilyn.

I'm half waiting for Katherine Ross and Paul Newman to ride through the frame. ;)

I prefer this misty wet ocean scene myself, but I know you love the sun...marvelously restorative capture!

For a long time in motion pictures, directors and cinematographers didn't want any "sun-flare" in their shots. Then some cinematographers got sunflare---perhaps by mistake---and the directors thought, "that really adds drama to the shots!" Now they're not uncommon at all...Well the same can be said of rain on the lens. Obviously not great for a studio portrait, or an ad photo of a cheeseburger (the client would have a s___fit!) But for a shot like this, it's fine. You've posted plenty of ocean shots without rain drops, this just brings home the nature of the day. It has a fine composition---the way the water winnows out and angles to get to the ocean; the opening in the rocks and mounds; and the front-most layer of dark rock; the patches of golden grass...all well-composed, Marilyn. And then the ocean fades, as it always does on rainy days, into an abyss: Your craggy mid ground is embraced by an abyss. And the raindrops seem to be commentary on the whole thing...Another dramatic shot from you, and beautifully composed. These landscapes are inside you, so when you see them, it's like you're photographing a piece of your soul.
