Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Beautiful! I love the golds, and the way the light plays with the bottle. Deco wears very well with me ... I'm not tired of it yet ... and I like this very much! Best of luck with the sweet peas. :) I do believe you're the only person I know who flirts with and seduces flora! :P

I never ceased to be amazed at the artistic talent you use to capture these perfume bottles. I love the postworked and the unpostworked versions both.

Great work in both cases, I like the post work on this one but the non post worked shot is a great one from the off.

Do you mean this is what Jean Harlow, Ginger Rogers, Joan Blondell, Rita Hayworth, Ruby Keeler and Myrna Loy wore back in the golden days of the Hollywood cinema? Excellent rendering of the elegant, exquisite container, A.

interesting bottle good luck with the planting

I am definitely an Art Deco/Nouveau fan and have always been and can never ever get enough of it, and 'Notorious' will be a new experience for me ... BB

What variety you get with your bottle 'pairs' (the flickr vs the RR): The flickr is a classic glass shot, all sheen and plane and cut. Angled and all sharp. This is about the more hidden energies of gold...with a "gold leaf" feel, as if you did this on a gold-leaf surface. Filled with all kinds of energy-lines and undulations (the flickr is much more sheer). And dark recesses and mysteries. Bottles really have all those things, don't they? I've become far more conscious of their language from your continually inventive series. And your background is perfect for the treatment: The back "wall" is like a dark gold endpaper. And btw, the photo has real class: The top masses along with the box behind it. Dramatic but very balanced. More fine bottle work from you. (Speaking of gold leaf, you ever work with it? I assume you have at one point or another. My first time, I was shocked: If you blow on a sheet lightly, it disintegrates. Poof! And you shriek, "OMY---that's GOLD flying to the ground!!!" Burnishing's no easy task either, but amazing how a sheet so thin can---when burnished---make a surface look like a massive, thick chunk of gold!) (And btw, since RLauren is doing fragrances, I'm reminded that EVERYONE'S doing fragrances these days. Fragrances and watches. Burberry makes watches now---Burberry, which started out as a military coat manufacturer! Well I'M coming out with a fragrance: I'm calling it "Mark". Catchy. I've always wanted to make something with "notes". And, in case you didn't know, Ralph Lauren's real name was Lifshitz. You can see why he changed it to "Lauren"...)

A very unique bottle and a much better view of the box on the FlickR side of things!
