Description

Parus major. These are in the nestbox on my pergola, and safely cushioned on Buster hair and bits of coloured wool which i don't remember knitting with! Good to think that the old boy continues to have a use.

Oh is this a surprising photo, Andrea. I love the orange-red speckles. And that nest is real art!

Blimey, the speckled Great Tit eggs nesting on Buster's remains? How bizarre. In any event, fine clarity and contrast in this stellar shot, Andrea.

First class shot Andrea, an impressive nest... good ole buster... back in spirit I'm sure and there in this lifetime leaving a legacy that's helping living animals now, hopefully soon new life will emerge from the eggs... there is something uniquely poetic about this shot.

What a wonderful surprise! I hope they do better than the family you had in the box a while ago. I do miss your old water dog.

A fascinating combination of hues and textures. The silvery grays are fine contrast to the reds (including reds on the nest itself). Lots of dappling here. And the eggs make a beautiful center. Looks very cozy, the way you've shot it. And yeah, I assume that any fiber-like things lying around are fair game for birds' nests. You'll find bits and pieces of your life, there...A cozy intimate shot of the nest.

I love this photo Andrea and I think that Rosie's lost fur enhances the capture!
