Description
Captured 4/8/14, early morning, outside of my condominium complex.
Please ZOOM.
With them growing just outside of the complex, I have snapped a ton/tonne of these alabaster beauties. This rose variety usually grows in clusters, photograph nicely and cast cool shadows in the sunshine, but are complete gray blobs under overcast skies.
Ciao, baby.

Excellent, Harry. I always find it easier to photo white flowers in the shade with my point and shoot.

Zoom's a must, though the display size (non-zoomed) is beautiful as well. As people say above, this is stunning. And as Bill says, capturing white flowers is a challenge--- in fact, capturing anything white is a challenge for me---and you aced it. You got so much beautiful shadow here, and in just the right proportions; the flower facing us (I do see the two, as you point out above) is about 1/3 in light, and the pink speckling just gives so much beauty and contrast to the shot...the shading on that flower is beautiful. And the other flower---facing sideways---is a beautiful contrast, where we can even see the silken textures of the petal-edges. And they're both surrounded by a deep saturated background. It's a portrait, worthy of studio work, and another of your wonderful roses in this long and continuously new and revealing, sumptuous series. One day these should all go into a book. I think people would be amazed at how much variety you've captured of this one specie of flower. Then you'd move to orchids, and so on. It just never ceases. A wonderful intense shot. (Btw, normally I'd have dropped you a note to be sure you were ok, as 5 days had lapsed between this and your last post. But I saw you in others' galleries, in that time, so I assumed you were ok. If you'd not posted for a few more days, I'd have asked. Anyway, I was glad to see you back in first rate form...)
