Description
Captured 3/31/14, early am, on a sidewalk adjacent to bank ATMs, about half a mile from my artsy-craftsy abode.
I neglected to see if it was a wine bottle or not.
Cool to ZOOM.

You discovered some very cool looking shadows from this bottle, Harry.

Fantastic shots my friend !!!

I'm thinking it was beer, for some reason. At any rate, if you hadn't also posted the bottle I'd have thought it was an average wine bottle. What a very cool find and absolutely amazing capture, Harry! It's stretched out so long, and has such wonderful disparities in the light transmission it would make me think it was a hand-blown bottle. I think they're going to have to name this shadow-on-sidewalk genre after you, as you get such stunning results from these shots. Kudos!

evidence that shadows can reveal many things that we do not suspect at first glance! Beautiful demonstration at sunset!

It was in the early morning, and not sunset.

Nice capture of this" Miller Highlife bottle "reminds me of a pencil fish. Creative shadow effect.

Super shadowplay here. Love it.

Love that shadow - it makes some nifty textures, very snake-like.

Zowie. I jumped out of my chair when you posted this. As Denise said, they're gonna have to name this genre after you (along with several other genres), as you've done such masterful work in this area. More of your early morning light and shadows---ie,that bleached intense light, with dabs of gold and yellow in it; and, in this case, some green and almost silver tones as well; and deep, rich shadows. Those sidewalk textures are gritty and clear as a bell. (I don't know where "clear as a bell" comes from, btw, since bell-tones are often quite muddled and complex. Strange phrase...) And lots of yellow and gold in that bottle. It looks like beer to me too---I think your son has it---since it has a beer-like logo on the cap, and I see the word "Life" on the label, which would lead one to believe this is, as he says, a "Miller High Life". Only this is sans the beer, giving the bottle a chance to show off its beauty and form. And the shadows are long and crystalline, mysterious and sleek. A truly beautiful minimalist set, Harry, with all kinds of complexity and variations in it: Anything but minimalist, in other words, while in a minimalist setting. A masterful set. Terrific.
