Description
The Knights of the First Crusade were a group of knights who laid siege to the city of Alexandretta for over a year, eventually destroying the city. Among the knights were three brothers who swore to find and protect the Holy Grail. The three brothers eventually found the relic in the Canyon of the Crescent Moon, in modern day Jordan, and lived in it's sanctuary for almost 150 years. One of the brothers was chosen to continue to guard the Grail while the other two returned to Europe, leaving behind two markers to the location of the Grail. The first marker was in the form of a stone tablet, left in modern day Turkey, while the second was carried as Richard's shield. Richard died on the return journey and was buried with his shield in a tomb in Snotting on the Wold. The third brother returned home to France were he told his story to a Franciscan friar, who recorded the knights tale.
( This would make a great movie.....but hang about :-)

Thanks for the reminder about the 3 brothers and their fate. I recall reading a book several years ago about the Grail having been brought to England, the drama involved in hiding it from Cromwell's destructiveness, and it winding up in private ownership in a family which (they claim) has had it over the past few centuries. It's purpotedly made of lathed wood, with one part of the edge worn down from all who have drunk from it. As for the image - good job. I do wonder about the texture map on the boots. And, did they actually wear boots, or were they wearing laced leggings back then? Glad to see you posting again. Hope all's well with you and Karin.

... has a big sword, so wins that particular contest, lol... interesting story... if I t'were to be buried, 'Snotting' wouldn't be high on my list of places to be interred... makes me turn green at the thought...
