Description

This painting was inspired by the writings of Edgar Allan Poe. The Imp of the Perverse is a metaphor for the urge to do exactly the wrong thing in a given situation for the sole reason that it is possible for wrong to be done. The impulse is compared to an imp (a small demon) which leads an otherwise decent person into mischief. Corel Painter/Photoshop

I grew up on B&W imagery such as this and I dare say, this is beautiful.

I love that this is done in b/w. I think it lends more to the atmosphere of the scene. Just amazing painting.

The textures look excellent in b and w. I have some cool mushrooms that I've been wanting to try out in Vue, you may have given me an idea or two, thanks... :)

STUNNING work. This is the sort of work that would have appeared in a roleplaying game supplement back in the 1980s, and it would have blown our minds! I love the composition, and the oddity of the plant. You also did a great job with the body language; it's apparent that the zombie is not about to attack the lead figure, but is rather in service to him. Kudos on the background; it is so evocative, yet still very indistinct. VERY impressive work. Thanks for sharing!
