Reinforcements! I don't think Big Teddy is too dangerous and may see right through the rivalry escalation. Maybe he can find a suitable cuddly toy for Zan - a little dinosaur or a wooly mammoth. I don't find this creepy. I have grandchildren!

Geez, at this rate of escalation, There won't be room for either of them. I agree with Terri. Your themes for the two characters are reminiscent of my son (an only child) and his friends. They always had to outdo one another.
