Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I onlyĀ use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. IĀ carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series,Ā binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
IĀ am gettingĀ theĀ hang ofĀ Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Ā
I have a wildlife gardenĀ in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagersĀ a while ago.
I'mĀ now getting some good results withĀ my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, butĀ the mistakes are much cheaper!Ā Ā
I haveĀ 4 lodgers,Ā 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Looks like the two are on an adventure, hunting down the elusive creature that resides in the gardens

What a lovely view of these two intrepid adventurers. The plank looks quite sturdy still; I'd bet it has many more years in it!

I remember this creaking when I stood on it, but still being very strong. Excellent pic of the dogs at play!

Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "walking the plank". What a beautiful garden & a fine shot of it...

What a gorgeous garden you have along with two happy dogs and an undisclosed number of dragonflies in the making. Life is good. As for the plank...it still looks quite sturdy to me.

Pirate Rosie making Fritz walk the plank ! Lol. Like the garden Andrea.

How wonderful to see this! They seem to really know how to enjoy your garden. It would be a lovely shot even without the dogs, but their presence, along with their reflections, makes this something special. Love it!

Your lush botanical garden never ceases to amazeā¦.what a vast myriad of flora you have growing there. Nigh onto an arboretum, it is. And, Fritz and Rosie should walk on tenterhooks while negotiating the scaffolding.

What an amazing environment. Fritz seems to be on the trail of something.

The gardens looking good and so long as it's only the dogs that use the plank it should last for years.

I have to stop at 6 again, Andrea, even though there are a whole lot of other shots of yours calling me---including the most recent one of today (which I love). I'll do more the next time I'm here. But this just wowed me: I love the off the cuff feel of it, Fritz is so intent, like he's studying something on the planks; and Rosie is just looking out, waiting for the slow poke to move. And around them, that beautiful teeming background, with all that flora and the beautiful bits of art, rock, etc etc. And a big clear pool of water below. It's a marvelous shot and juxtaposition, and Fritz's concentration---all hovered as he walks---makes the piece. He's not concerned with anything---just with getting across that plank. Love it. A wonderful candid from life.
