Actually, with the penguins to the left, this could also be interpreted as an Antarctic lookout, what with your Great Lakes experiencing another freezing spell. You in Chicago have an interminable winter, and we have an interminable drought. In any case, you have captured the tundra, with its lovely swirling patterns, in your usual nonpareil fashion, Mark.

Mark, artic lookout as the perfect choice of titles for this one and this is anything but a simply photo of lake Michigan. Actually Harry's point was very well made as everything about this setting reinforces the notion of just how cold it is there.

"Can you see Canada from here?" "No, I can't see a freakin' thing. If it's this cold here, imagine how cold it must be at home." A long pause ... and then, "He's been gone a long time." "Yup." Pause "Think he'll make it?" "Nope." "Want to wait a little bit longer?" "Might as well." They look so ... laconic.

Another wonderful mood and story photo. Just adore how those penguins are gazing out at that icy blue expanse of water, as if contemplating their journey, or perhaps awaiting an arrival. So many can relate to this, because most of us have stood on the shore, staring out at the massiveness of the sea, lost in our own thoughts and imaginings. Super image.

LOL, penguins? I suppose they wouldn't be any more out of place than the harbour seals that I thought those rocks were at first glance! Good thing we have zoom, eh? And when penguins and harbour seals show up on the shores of the lake I think we can assume the end is nigh... Wonderful scene and shot, and I love Tara's narrative!

"Just" Lake Michigan??? That's kinda like saying, well "I'm a little bit pregnant" or "Did that hurt when you fell off the building?" I swear, your lake and my ocean need to meet, I just know they'd make quite the couple. Ok, nuff of that silliness---I love your lake shots because you give us little bits and pieces of it and each is so unique. This one looks cold and nasty and I'll bet you didn't stick around long after you took this foto!!

These Goose enjoy a most fantastic view. I love all the tones on the water, the story this photo tells does me think of a fairy tail. One can imagine a lot by looking at this lovely capture, Mark.

HAAHA! No wonder Harry thought the two geese were pinguins. I almost thought that myself and that would fit perfectly to this frosen seascape LOL ! Have you been in North Canada lately.? Yes, the Canada geese are fitting well too :-) What a marvellous shot. And you really know how to present it, dont you? ;-) Superbly done as always.
