When it seems there's no one to turn to, when it feels like you're stranded in the middle of nowhere, it's all too easy to think all is lost. -------- Been on the slow side again, but I've needed time to consider my options. I've been diagnosed with a rare tooth condition, and all my teeth will eventually break off. Replacing them won't come at all cheap because I'm not sick enough for the hospital waiting list, and private health insurance doesn't cover most dental work. Where I'm from, the health system is usually pretty good, but my case doesn't tick the right boxes. I finally understand why healthcare is a big political volcano over in the USA - medical debt is the biggest cause of personal bankruptcies over there, even for the insured middle classes, and my heart bleeds for those in such a predicament. And to rub it in, we're constantly lectured that the cupboard is bare - unless of course, you happen to drive a Rolls-Royce and wear Dolce & Gabbana, and you can seemingly ask those in power for as much money as you like. Is it any wonder people are getting sick of all the hypocrisy, in the wake of the Great Recession?
