Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Its amazing what kind of shoes we used to wear.

They are nice. they would suit my Granddaughters prom gown, she has just bought some size 7. I wanted to buy her some beads but that was asking too much of Emma to wear beads.

Those are terrific shoes. I'd love to have a reason to wear them!! Trent & David are getting married in June, and I had to buy a dress and shoes and all the appropriate under-things to go with. (I felt I had to make some effort for my brother's wedding. Anyone else would have got a less fancy getup!) Fortunately someone had donated a perfectly good, brand-new pair of Naturalizer heels in just my size at the local charity shop. A $70 pair of shoes for $5, which is just about the right price for something I'll wear once! Maybe I'll have Bill take a few pics of them and show off a bit. :P

Superb capture Andrea. Lol i am anti high heels. I can just feel how one can not be comfortable with high heel shoes. God bless.

I would have fallen off even when I was young. I was always too clumsy. This is a beautiful photo.

I love those; 30 years ago I would have worn them. I can't even stand upright now in anything with any kind of heel, so much for aging! But they are a lovely colour and style; great capture!

Excellent POV and digifiddling in this splendid image of the classy shoe. No way can or would I wear this with my feet arthritis, plantar fascitis and ankle bone spur.

Great treatment on both photos. they are lovely shoes but I would never ask any woman to wear them...

Excellent shots and post work with both... shoes are a subject that often becomes so addictive to many women when shopping.. they have to buy even when they cannot really afford them.

These shoes certainly fit the category. The color is gorgeous. On the subject of height, do you remember platform shoes? I once saw a young lady fall off hers. These may be dangerous and painful but they prove the superiority of women. Ginger Rogers, in an interview, spoke of her love for Fred Astaire but noted that, while he received most of the credit for their dance numbers, she did all the same steps he did while in high heels and dancing backwards.

Great this green for shoes, they fit perfect for a green Jag for example;-) What I don't like are peep toes, most Ladies do not have very nice toes...

Women's dress shoes---and a lot of non-dress shoes too---can cover the gamut of style, sweep and elegance, but they're tough on the feet and body after a while. It's a shame they can't make them more supportive, esp for people over 40. The idea, aesthetically, of raising the back of the shoe to give a sleek downward line is beautiful---aesthetically. But it creates physical problems in time. (Men's dress shoes, except for the most extreme, have always been more support-conscious, which is a shame for women.) But on the aesthetic plane, these are smooth and very sleek. Your treatment makes them tall sweeping things, the dark shadow on top makes them mysterious---which shoe designers would love---and your background treatment leaves long bold patches of flat hue (which I love), with the exception of the windows, which are much more variegated. (I'm speaking of zoomed view.) Full size, this thing is formidable! I really like what you've done with these. (Tara was talking about getting a pair for $5: Man, if you bought those shoes in my neighborhood, fuggeddit---you'd have to sell your home! $5 around here would get you maybe an inch of stitching. And as for Harry's "No way can or would I wear this with my feet arthritis, plantar fascitis and ankle bone spur"---lol: I wouldn't even fit INTO these things...Big bold treatment of this shot.)

Like both shades of green!
