Description
Toward the end of February, a friend from Sweden was visiting relatives in London so we met up at Paddington Station for a day of sightseeing.
I couldn't resist a shot of the platform of this historic station. It has been the London terminus of the Great Western Railway and its successors since 1838.
Much of the current mainline station dates from 1854 and was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
The site has been served by Underground trains since 1863 and was the original western terminus of the Metropolitan Railway, the world's first underground railway.

Thanks for posting this. Last I saw Paddington station was 1969. And thanks for the historical notes. Nice symmetry - reminds me of the station in Malmoe, Sweden, near where I live. Keep up the good work! :-)
