Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

But how will you ever get back to Kansas? Cool boots.

They sure are RED! I'm more of a dark shoe person, my ex used to tease me about my large collection of black men's style shoes. Never had any red ones!

Oh wow, look at all of that RED! Sterling capture of your meticulously cared-for calf/footwear, Andrea. Also great for stomping and kicking blighters in the shins. And, isn't that what the Three Musketeers and those of that ilk wore back in medieval times?

You will never believe this, but I was the proud owner of a pair of RED BOOTS ! That was in the early 70's, when I wore them and usually attended my Modern Jazz Ballet lessons [2x week, when I still lived in Melbourne] what fun that was and I loved those beautiful soft and real leather boots ... thanks for the memories Andrea, BB

Did ya ever think I'd do 3 shoe shots in one session? I so seldom see them in your gallery, I'm lapping them up. Great red, classy shoes, and playful at the same time---I'd love to see pics of you in these! And you did take care of them---I'm impressed. (I have some really nice shoes, but I wish I could hire someone just to condition them, because rubbing shoes really hurts my arm.) A big bold shot, and you got just the right background for these beauts. And it was a fine choice of shoe designers when they decided to wrinkle leather so that it looked like bunched-cloth. (Washed leather bags get that look today, at times.) You have some blue in the background too, which of course sets off the boots...No one should be surprised that you do this well, after seeing your perfume shots. Fine shot of these. Eye popping! (I think I'm up to 12 images now, so I'll have to step aside for now. I hope to be back one more time in the next day or two. But boy it's great to comment here...always a pleasure to see your artistic eye at work, Andrea.
