Description
Captured 4/17/14, early AM, somewhere around the neighborhood.
Help, somebody!
This species really has me puzzled. I thought they were geraniums at first, then violets, but it's none of those from what I can determine. With all of the floral mavens out there in RR, surely someone has the answer to its identity.
And, if nothing else, please ZOOM.
Arrivederci.

Nice work on this cool and colorful capture, Harry.

It's awfully exotic and lovely, whatever it is; it reminds me in some way of a mandevilla, but I don't think that's right either. I guess you'll just have to keep going by wherever you shot it and ask the gardener if you see him or her. A gorgeous capture, Harry!

i think it's an iris but not sure. it could also be a rhodie or an azalea; can't tell without seeing the whole thing. it's gorgeous!!

Lol, well if Andrea doesn't know what flower it is, it has to be from another planet! But then, if YOU don't know what flower it is, it ALSO has to be from another planet. (Denise doesn't know either, and she's another flower expert.) Whatever it is, everyone's right about your capture. A centered threesome, placed in front of a beautifully-handled green background with red specks and sky coming through. The flowers are in a kind of rotating circle; and the way you caught the veins, it looks as if they're radiating outward. How you get these flower shots to look like they posed in a studio---after makeup, lighting, the whole shebang---will remain one of life's great mysteries to me; but you've been doing this long enough that you get beautiful compositions, povs, light, motion, all of it, right in the middle of someone's garden or a patch next to a parking lot. You've got the impeccable eye for these posed-in-nature shots. Beautiful homage to this flower, and fine work with the background too. Another flower winner from you.
