Description

USS Stewart Seawolf Park Galveston, Texas March, 2014 ................................... We've been very fortunate on this trip to NOT be where there's trouble! We were in Galveston before the oil tanker accident, in Arkansas before the tornados, and in Florida and Alabama before two feet of rain fell in 24 hours. We're headed back to Washington, and hope to be there in the next two weeks or so. We're camped under sunny skies at Salina, Kansas today, where it's windy but with no threat of severe weather.

So, Tara, you & Bill just sow the seeds of disaster wherever you go & then skip out before it hits? Just kidding, of course & I'm glad you missed the bad parts. Love the old fashioned, utilitarian faucet that wears it's years of heavy use proudly...

Have you warned the people of Washington that you are on the way? This is a great picture. The light, shadow and atmosphere are fantastic.

This I really like. I can tell what it is. It's in bw. It's gritty. It's just plain awesome!!

As Jeff points out, known as a tap here. We have a joke that goes, "I tried tap dancing last night, and fell in the sink" It is a very ornate tap, I like it. And pleased to hear you both are safe.

Very superb closeup of this plumbing terminus (how's that for a name? LOL! Language....) I like the B&W and not-easily-made-out outlines of it, you make a commonality into a mystery. Although a lot of people will say that everything about plumbing is a mystery...

There's just something strangely beautiful about something as utilitarian as this faucet. Nothing fancy or decorator about this, and yet it still has its own simple beauty. You have captured it well, Tara!

Love the way you can take a simple faucet and turn it into art! Your postwork dealing with light and dark says it all to me.
