Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

I love it, real fun... nice characters.

But it does become your business if it impacts your relationship with others, i.e., friends, relatives, shop owners, the law, lodgers, restauranteurs, grocers, milliners, chimney sweeps, the chemist, politicians, solicitors, beach bums, etc. Other than that, Andrea, another one of your nonpareil doodles, performed with verve, to pleasure us.

A very good drawing, with great humour!

It's so true. The expressions on these doodled faces are relatively neutral, but it's easy to read something into anything!! Excellent advice.

wonderful work and image.

One of the benefits of being my age is that I no longer care. Take me as I am or bugger off. Job interviews disappeared in my rear view mirror a long time ago. I was shopping for mother's day and birthday cards today and your doodling style would make for a fantastic line of greeting cards.

A fantastic creation, Andrea, did you win the challenge? I would say it as this: Don't worry what others think of you, it's none of 'their' business.

Very good advice my friend and a very nice doodle! I am glad that I no longer need to interview for a job! :o)

Andrea, I'm at about 100 minutes now, and I think I did about 12 or 13 shots, so I'll have to stop once more. Regretfully, but only temporarily. But I skipped back to this because I've wanted to comment on it for a while...The advice, here, is a delightful turn on "none of THEIR business', and it's sound advice too. ("What do you care?" my father would say: "It's none of your concern what they think! Screw 'm!" My dad was a lawyer and very well-read, but he had the heart of an everyday dude at base. If someone said he shouldn't wear that tie with that shirt, he'd say, "my father always said: So where's it WRITTEN? It's a LAW I shouldn't wear this tie with this shirt? Nu---so SUE me!") But beyond the advice, it's one of your doodles. If you did this because you couldn't find the appropriate photo? Bravo for that---your doodles are worth any excuse in the world. It does portray people peering into us, though a couple of people are smiling which would indicate they're not intrusive. But it's more of your face caricatures, full of individual personality, and with your marvelous segmenting of the face into those close-to-center eyes, those wonderful wrinkle lines, your characteristic three-leaf noses (love 'm), your characteristic jowls---where appropriate---the wonderful long adam's apples, your craning necks, and your just right number of squiggles for hair, and your just right number of lines for clothing. These are masterful. I like your coloring too, free, playful and mixed. Love these drawings. A great place to end for now---one of your terrific doodles. Hope you have a restful night, after all that wedding work. I'll be back again soon...
