Description
Another POV of the immaculate landscape and koi pond, captured back on 12/11/11, at the beautiful Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden, located on the north campus of beautiful California State University Long Beach, in Long Beach, California.
Better detail via ZOOM.
And, it's been hotter and drier than the devil here over the past week, with temperatures ranging at the 100+ Fahrenheit degree mark in my patio. Barely any rain during the winter, and now August type temperatures during the first week of May.
Climate change, anyone?
Sayonara.

A beautiful wooden bridge, and striking short pilings in the water in this view, Harry. The greens are so vibrant! What a wonderful capture you're presenting here!

Great shot of the gardens. The green is so vibrant and I really like that "fence" or barrier of some sort, the is around the Bonzai island and reflected in the water.

It really does have a fairy tale feeling, as this whole series does. That island in the center---with its carpet of green---is like a fairy tale oasis. Those little pier-tops (groynes? the cylinder "railing" around the island) make it seem like a miniature, or a lavish train-set garden. And the background, along with the reflections in the foreground, are straight out of Monet's Water Lily series. A packed shot, composed around the island; and poetic and elegant alongside all its plushness. You've done a lush job with a tough task (darkening intense sunlight), and created scenes we'd expect in a folktale. You've got wonderful series going simultaneously, these last few weeks. A real pleasure! Harry I have to stop now, but I'll be back for the rest later today or evening. I've done everything chronologically in my last several sessions, and that's a first for me: But that means I've covered everything going back 2 months or so. More to come! All of this is a pleasure, always...
