Description
One more POV of the elegant landscape, captured back on 12/11/11, at the beautiful Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden, located on the north campus of beautiful California State University Long Beach, in Long Beach, California.
Because of the color, it reminds me in a certain way of the 1941 movie, How Green Was My Valley.
I have more shots taken way back of the Gardens, which I have visited several times because of the beautiful koi, sitting somewhere in files I can't seem to locate, so this will have to do for the present.
Sayonara.

I can tell this beautiful pic was processed before your eye op, when everything seemed darker to you than to me. But the high key makes it extremely attractive like a childrens' book illustration.

Oh contraire, I had to darken this scene because the original was so bright due to our bright Southern California sun.

This is another very lovely capture of the Japanese Garden, Harry.

An interesting color effect - has a kind of flat retro look to it, like something that might have been shot before digital & appeared in Look or Life magazine. Creative postwork...

What a beautiful capture of this garden, Harry; it looks like a truly marvelous place to visit. I think I'd be there a LOT if I lived near! Great work!

Well you may not have captured the koi, but your landscapes of this place have been story-book-like, enchanted and beautiful. And I'm glad, once again, you got lots of full views for the image---this series blossoms in full view. This is a beautiful capper to the series, a kind of a panorama of all the goodies of the place. You have people, bridges, railings, those beautiful boulders, wood fences, mini-temples, and of course all that nature. And the full range of shapes, large to small. You know, it strikes me that the strong light that you had to tone down acted as a 'filter' of sorts, which you finessed, toned down, re-balanced, etc. The result of your work is a series of enchanted, plush tapestries. A beautiful series, with a soft touch, and the feeling of looking back to a gilded age...a wonderful chapter of this series.
