My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Wonderful capture of this beautiful flower
Wolfenshire
Mystic and richly colored flower against the darkness of space. A foreboding, a prophecy of doom, the entire destruction of our species contained with this small blossom. Or, a really nice flower. I been watching the scifi channel again.

Well I declare Miss Tara (great name great name for an image from the South BTW), this is just the prettiest thing I ever did see. Wonderful light and color.

An absolute stunner - a rich and vibrant purple/burgundy, or even fuchsia? can't quite make up my mind ? ;P - like a royal velvet coat with a lighter shade of the lining ... and so totally different looking to the Portwine Magnolia I have in my garden - and the perfume is out of this world! I would love to know, whether these ones also have a perfume ? simply elegant Tara, BB

I didn't notice a scent, but the ones "back home" in Washington State smell sort of lemony. :)

One of those is growing in the yard of one of my neighbors - a wonderful flower and a good composition!

Magnificent work of lighting dear Tara !

Fabulous lighting , you made a perfect portrait of her. Mine has the variety name 'Susan' and I have yet to get a good photo of her. Ideally she should be in a different part of the garden but is too large to move now.

Beautiful shot in natural light !!

Beautiful - love the way it seems to be in the process of unfolding & we can see both the inner & outer sides of the petals. And, as a bonus, when zoomed the left side blends into the black background, eliminating that edge...

I love these also. I have taken a few photos of some myself. But, I do not think any of mine turned out this spectacular. thanks for sharing.

What? Where were these? Smile. Must have been somewhere in the plantation gardens. Such delightful detail and color. I must have been looking up at the trees while you were looking down at the flowers:)

Beautiful. I planted one of these trees 29 years ago and it gives me pleasure each spring.
