Description
Captured 4/30/14, early morning, about a mile from my humble haunt.
Copious detail when ZOOMED.
Since there are NO insects or minibeasts around to munch on these beauties, and if properly cared for, they should live out a rich and contented life, free of any mutilation.
Au revoir.

Wow, those are HUGE! Wonder what species, maybe some kind of ficus? Stunning photos, Harry, revealing all the detail a person can possibly imagine. What a beauty!

beautiful textures on both sides of the leaves, playing on solar lighting, which creates beautifully highlighted nervurers of the leaves of this plant! excellent shots close!

So, critical and non-critical comments are welcomed? Nice snapshot for capturing the subject for memories, but not for art gallery..my friend.

No, only non-critical comments are welcome, and as for an art gallery, this is the photography section, so I have a feeling you're in the wrong department, my friend. Snap shot, indeed.

They are SO shiny! Very beautiful photos, but rather a shame if there really are no insects!

I can't imagine what that commenter was thinking, in thinking this a snapshot for one's 'memories'---this is a beautiful portrait of leaves, one of the finest I've seen. And you also move in a sequence, from most opaque (top) to most transparent (bottom), even though none are 100% one or the other. The light in these shots is beautiful; the detail equally so---we see the pock marks, the veins, the undersides, all of it, including the undersides of background leaves, beautifully shown. And the way the light begins to penetrate the leaves, in number 2, and then render them translucent, in number 3, is most striking. A beautiful sequence, and each shot is beautiful in its own right. One of the finest leaf sets I've seen on this site. I regret to say that I'm at 2 hours now (and I think 12 images), so I'll stop for now. But I'll get to the others in the next sessions. But I can't think of a better place to end. as this is splendid. And while it's sad when insects are absent from a natural setting, it's nice in that it left these leaves in pristine condition, at least for your shot. Beautiful.
