"Bath House ~ Robbers' Cave State Park"
The Bath House at Robbers' Cave State Park where I changed into my swim suit many times as a child and teen. It was built by the WPA during the Great Depression [1930s]. The building is constructed with large carved sandstone blocks and 12" logs. Girls used the right wing, and boys used the left. At the front window we could check out wire baskets to secure our clothes in for the outrageous price of $0.25. Then we would swim, dive from the 3ft. and 9ft. diving boards on the concrete pier, and get sunburnt to a crisp. No one knew the evils of sunburn back in the 50s and 60s. Now the building also serves as a museum.
As a 9 year old, I challenged my beautiful young mother to a [50yd.?] race across the lawn in front of the bath house by the swings. I won! That was very shocking to Mother for me to beat her.
Once, as a teen, I foolishly decided to swim across the lake [probably 300 yards/M] to the base of the bluffs in my previously posted pictures. I made it, but was starting to get really scared about 2/3s of the way across. I had to rest an hour before swimming back. I never made that mistake again.

interesting stories of your youth and I like the stone architecture. my father worked for the WPA with hundreds of other men building a pretty big lake with shovels and wheel barrels
