Description

Fourche Maline Creek, ~A tributary of the Poteau River. Feeds into Carlton Lake at Robbers' Cave State Park in Wilburton, OK. This fork is near to the alleged hide outs of Belle Star and the Jesse James Gang, Other fugitives included the Dalton Gang, the Youngers and the Rufus Buck Gang. The Park is located in the scenic, hilly woodlands of the Sans Bois Mountains of southeast Oklahoma. This park is a favorite of rappellers, equestrians, hikers and outdoor lovers. The park and adjoining wildlife management area covers more than 8,000 acres (3,200 ha) and includes three lakes. The park will be much prettier after all the trees leaf out. This image has no enhancements for color or other photographic elements. The size of the image was reduced from 7.1MB to 496KB. Thanks for visiting my gallery and your comments. JC

Perfect place to stay. Beautifully blooming tree. This is probably cherry. - By E-Nomime The pink/red/lavender trees that are blooming are the Redwood Tree. The white blooms are from the Dogwood Tree. JC
