You have the most amazing eye, to see these beautiful abstract compositions in nature. The papery bark is such a gorgeous texture, and makes for a wonderful picture!

Makes me want to go out and begin examining trees around our campsite. Very inspiring.

While I zoom everything, I wouldn't think of 'not' zooming your work: It just demands it, and it pays for itself many times over. Another madrone shot, and this one is like the skins of root vegetables curling off the root as it bakes. Wonderful curled textures. And brittle textures too. Like a pile of tree-based potato chips, or chocolate shavings. Like tara says, you have the most amazing eye for wresting out these abstract beauties from the nature around you. (Well I paraphrased a bit, but she said something very similar.) And each one is still very different than the last. I especially like the way the reds morph into intense whites and cooler grays: They get very steely, in a way. Another fine capture of energies and flows from you. And very rich too. I'll be back for more, I'm just returning and catching up with those of you I left out last time, and I'm not finished here by any means. Your most recent farm pieces are beautiful. I love when you work with farms and their grounds...

Fantastic find and photo. It is as thin as old dried up parchment paper!
