Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Did you post the wrong pic? This pussy willow would be a sensation if it produced apples!

I thought the same as Andrea. This is a gorgeous pussy willow, but no way it's going to bring forth apples! :P Still ... it's a terrific picture! I can almost feel the softness of the catkins.

Hey, I didn't even know it was a pussy willow! (I'm an illiterate with plant identities.) Whatever it is, I love the branches on one side, and the shadow on the other. And very colored shadow, too. (Sweet.) And the front-most branch crosses through both...A simple capture of some branches, but it flows so nicely between fore and background, and the light and dark---the two sides of the shot---really do divide it and give it contrast. A fine shot, Marilyn. Very intuitively seen and cropped. (And it would be great if you went back, and it spawned PEARS. Then you could rub it in everyone's faces...) As you can see by now, I'm doing every shot I've not commented on since the last time I commented. I was determined, when I returned to your gallery, to comment on everything. It's a pleasure. And once again I thank you so much for the wonderful comments you've left me, over and over. They've meant the world to me. (I'll write to you soon, and say a lot more than what I'm saying here, but I wanted to thank you anyway.) Always a terrific journey to come to your gallery. Now on to the next shot...
