Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Re all the things Fritz doesn't do that a bloke does---wouldn't it be something if you work up one morning and Fritz was talking on his iPhone? Ordering pizza and depositing money in his checking account? A beautiful shot, with light and shade befitting the portrait photographers of the 30s and 40s. And another beautiful expression in your beautiful series of dog shots. He looks like he's looking at you---though he couldn't be, because you're taking the shot---but it's like he's waiting for you to wake up. The flickr version is equally beautiful, esp as he's looking right into us. Your dog series is wonderful, Andrea, and this is a great addition to it. Terrific.

Hehehe, Andrea, what a lucky girl you are with your modest and well-behaved Fritz! But, uh, does he never wants to have something in return?

Lovely photo. You are right. The only problem with this fellows is a wet nose in your ear when you want to sleep just a little bit longer.

So cute :) Life would not be the same without our fur friends.

Fritz is a refined fellow, with those doggy matinee idol looks, this is an excellent capture of him. A real cute little chap.

Good point, A, but, unfortunately, creatures of his persuasion don't have the life span of most blokes. In any event, wonderful contrast, color blend, and lighting effects.

Ah, but can he take out the garbage and do auto maintenance? You see, we are good for something. A very sweet pair of images.

He is even handsome first thing in the morning, more than I can say for myself LOL! What a beautiful boy he is!

The lighting is superb! I love that elegant, glamorous look. :) I bet he never launches into a brief history of random Civil War battles, either, does he? LOL!

Poor John, I always hold the dogs up to him for comparison .. and mention all the things you just did, ROFL!! This is just the most wonderful portrait of Fritz .. wish I looked as good when I first woke up. I adore the Flickr version as much as this one!

I love this lighting and photo and laughed at the FlickR version!
