Description
I'm here so little these days, I wanted to post 4 old 2D pieces. You DON'T have to comment on them all ! If you see them and like them, I'm happy. (If you hate them, you'll get a refund. Allow 4 to 6 weeks, minus shipping and handling...that's really a bad joke, but I can't resist, as some of you painfully know...)
This FIRST one was from a mask by our beloved Helle (helanker, here). A few years ago.
It's large, so please zoom...
I'm catching up and I'll continue through the weekend.
It's great being back in your galleries again!
(Three more to come---hope you enjoy)

What sorcery is this, pray tell? Whatever these images are supposed to represent, there is fine detail and a riot of colors in the variations, suggesting photos taken of a portion of earth from a satellite, or possibly a high flying drone, and examined employing various filters. In fact, I see tracts of land on each version, Mark, the black/white cutout notwithstanding. I hope this comment wasn't too dry and lackluster, as comments go.

Psychedelic paisley, that's what I see and it's just WAY cool!!

Mostly with 2D stuff I try to look at the piece as a whole, then in smaller parts, then as a whole again. It gives me a sense of a piece ... what the artist might be saying, what it's saying to me (regardless of intention), how it feels. But there's a bit in the second panel that got me so off track, so mesmerized, that it's all I can see. I've created a little excerpt, and I'll send it to you so you know which part grabbed me and wouldn't let go. :)

Mark, first of all forgive me for being so late to get around to comment. I simply had to take time out to comment on this amazing presentation you created for Helle. She is one of the most talented artist in the gallery and a friend to so many. I simply love what you've done here with your colorful and creative variations on the original.

This is lovely; I can visualize it as one of those long banner-like hangings (maybe with tassels on the bottom) on a wall in some repurposed old castle somewhere beautiful. Or an ultra-modern museum in a big city, with massive white walls and skylights, and this on a sail-like rigging, perhaps on an angle, jutting out into space... I love it!

These look very surreal and psychedelic. And that cutout design in the center reminds me of an abstract door and windows, as if I am entering and looking into some wild place. Very intriguing.

Mark, I am so honoured, you download and use my masks sometimes. It is great fun to see what others get out of it :-) This is a wonderful way of using Masks, which isnt really maske but just homemade JPEG pictures, but used the right way, amazing stuff can be created, such as this. Love it :-) Thank you :-)))))))
