Ok.
This was for an ad in 1980. I had an hour to paint it.
They wanted a bottle that was "melting, because it's such a hot seller!"
(See how we suffered back then?)
The writing's sloppy because I had 10 minutes to do it, and there wasn't time for "Letraset". This is what we called "on the fly illustration".
Messy, but I hope fun. I posted a smaller version before, but this is full size.

Only an artistic Superman could have equaled the speed you generated in creating this glittering objet d'art, Mark. Sterling contrast, blends and lighting effects adorn this wonderful advertisement. Which reminds me that I still have an unopened bottle of Martinelli's Cider languishing in my refrigerator.

Mark, first of all allow me to say that you never cease to amaze us. Once I read your thoughts that help put this image into the proper context I was totally blown away. Knowing that you created this image from an idea that was the rest upon you is one thing, but learning that you accomplish this feat in under an hour is truly amazing. Hey, if they want a melting bottle of sparkling cider ... you give them a melting bottle of sparkling cider. It's a wild and crazy business, and you really did a great illustration in a short time.
