Description
Not the greatest shot, but I couldn't resist:
This lady reeeeeeeeaalllllly didn't want me to shoot this.
She was a riot once I did, though.
I asked if she wanted a copy of the pic, and she said: "Honey? I gotta look at myself every damned day---now why would I wanna see me from your eyes too???"
She laughed riotously.
Thanks for looking at 4 images last night! You're grand to do that! I'm still commenting, I'm not done yet...
Have a fine weekend!

Lots of attitude there, LOL! You're a brave man to trespass...she looks like she could harm you if she wanted to! Wonderful candid, Mark!

Having read your comments first, I find this very funny. Had I seen it without your comments, I think I would have interpreted it very differently. And I agree with Denise that you're brave to have taken it in the face of that scowl. But the outcome demonstrates that good intentions & honest human communication can defuse a potential hostile situation...

You're probably lucky she didn't grab your camera and stomp on it. She doesn't look happy but I'm glad it had a happy ending with you getting a great candid shot and you both having a laugh and a nice encounter.

INTRIGUING
goodoleboy
Interesting perspective and overall ambience in this composition of the Chicago walkway and the jaded woman on the right, Mark. In contrast, I try not to interface verbally with my sentient subject matter, because it throws me off the concerted effort that I employ just to concentrate on my photography. They might very well take umbrage at my cheek. leaving both of us in a snit. That's why I became a sneaky Ninja when taking shots of humankind, especially in doctor's waiting rooms. The Renaissance Faires are a definite exception, of course, where most everyone likes being photographed.

At first I thought she was possibly giving you the one fingered salute:-) Then I saw it was her phone. Love the expression. How did you get the nerve? The background really works...lightened to bring her right into our faces so to speak. Well done.

she missed an option of a photo from a world re know artist. This is a wonderful art photo

She looks like a woman who knows her mind! I bet she's a hoot. I like what Jock said ... you should have told her you were a well-known, famous artist! It's true of course. :) This is a terrific picture, and you get extra points for bravery. Although I must admit, the look on her face isn't as threatening as it might first appear. I can see the "act" in it. Fantastic moment!

Mark, first of all let me thank you for bringing a bit of sunshine into my life this evening. Although it is rainy and overcast here, a visit to your gallery once again cheered me up. I absolutely love this capture and the expression on her face. What made this moment complete was in reading her response to you. She is one of those rare people that has a great sense of humor and the ability to laugh at herself. Would that we all could be more like this lady.
