Description
"Robbers' Cave Stone Corral"
This is the entrance to the stone corral on the approach to Robbers' Cave. The other end of the corral is a narrow, steep passage just large enough for a person to slip through. Supposedly, the Jessie James Gang, Belle Star, the Dalton Gang and others used this area as a hideout to avoid the gallows of "Hanging Judge " Parker of Ft.Smith.
The formation is natural sandstone. Notice the red iron laden streaks in the stone. Rock detail is best seen in full [REN] size. Original image size was 3600x2400@300dpi@5.06Mb. I really had to reduce size and resolution to post here.
